Thomaidis and Lavallee opportunity to shine
with Basketball Canada in 2010

This summer, Lisa Thomaidis and Jacqueline Lavallee will lead Canada’s most elite basketball players into international competition. Thomaidis, who will enter her 13th season as head coach of the Huskie women’s basketball team in 2010-11, will add to her national resume by continuing her position as an assistant coach with the Canadian Women’s National Team as they travel to the Czech Republic for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women. The team qualified for the 2010 World Championships in 2009 at the FIBA Americas Championship in Brazil

Precious Medal - Saskatchewan captures Bronze at 2010 CIS Championships

Sunday Mar.14th 2010 HAMILTON (CIS) -The University of Saskachewan women's basketball team made history Sunday morning in southern Ontario, capturing the bronze medal at the 2010 CIS Women's Basketball Championships, defeating the University of Regina Cougars 78-67. Lindsay DeGroot led the way with 24 points, supported by Jill Humbert who scored 19 of her own along with dishing out 7 assists. Read more >

Apparently, L.T. also stands for 'lands transfer.' For the second straight year, head coach Lisa Thomaidis has added a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) transfer student as a top recruit to her University of Saskatchewan women's basketball program.

This year, it's CIS top defensive player Katie Miyazaki, a guard from the national champion Simon Fraser University Clan. All-Canadian guard Lindsay DeGroot made the switch last year.
